The Noe Valley Democratic club has endorsed a NO vote for the recall of District Attorney Chesa Boudin, which will be Proposition H in the upcoming June 7th election.
Members against his recall noted his commitment to important criminal justice reforms—particularly the elimination of cash bail—and did not believe he is the primary driver of the shifts in crime seen since the start of the pandemic.
Although some members had concerns about his overall approach to prosecution and management of the office, most felt that it did not warrant a recall, which should be reserved for the most egregious of circumstances. Members believed Boudin did what he said he was going to do—implement much-needed criminal justice reform.
